As we have seen during the ongoing pandemic, the need for capable workers in health and social care cannot be overstated. In fact, some educational establishments have even created their Health and Social Care courses as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic, in a dire rush to produce personnel to help manage cases.
At Mont Rose College, we provide numerous courses that give students the opportunity to pursue health and social care. Firstly, our HND in Healthcare Practice (HND in Healthcare Management) enables students to complete up to level 4 and level 5 qualifications in Health and Social Care.
An HND, or Higher National Diploma, is a quicker and more practical course to complete in a particular field. It will equip you with the skills needed to start work right away or alternatively, lead you to further study.
Speaking of which, Mont Rose College also offers the next stage of study after an HND in Healthcare: A Top Up course in Integrated Health and Social Care. This is a level 6 course, equivalent to the last year of a degree.
A Top-Up course typically takes a year to complete. It is useful as it allows you to further develop your knowledge and understanding of a subject whilst also gaining an internationally recognised qualification.
Our HND and Top Up courses both put students in a great position to continue or start a new career in healthcare.
Our HND in Healthcare Management includes mandatory modules such as Fundamentals of Evidence-based Practice and Managing Quality in Care Environments. Students are also able to choose optional units such as the specialist module: Pharmacology and Medicine Management.
Next, after completion of our Top Up course, students would be in a position to continue on to further studies, such as a Masters’ degree. Alternatively, students can go for roles within the health and social care sectors such as management roles for safeguarding roles, social work or HR roles.
The modules on all our courses have been carefully curated and chosen by departmental experts and/or external bodies and industry professionals. The modules have been chosen with life after study in mind for students, so as to put them in the best position to succeed.
In this way, both our HND and Top Up courses enable you to move forward in health and social care management, as well as specialise in a specific part of the subject, helping you to start or progress in your career and professional development.
To elevate your career prospects in Health and Social Care Management, be sure to enrol on our HND or Top Up courses today! We are currently accepting applications for January ‘22 intake and would be pleased to have you study with us!
