Success at Mont Rose College of Management and Sciences

Mont Rose College (MRC) is celebrating its latest significant success with a positive outcome to its recent Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) monitoring visit, which looked in detail at all of MRC’s higher education provision.

After an intensive inspection in October 2018, of the College, the QAA’s visiting team found that Mont Rose is making commendable progress, continuing to monitor, review and enhance its higher education provision. The College’s good practice has been maintained and extended, with a range of external reference points to support and enhance academic standards and teaching quality being firmly in place.

The team commented especially on the strengths of the admissions and assessment processes and procedures and the highly effective engagement with external reference points to ensure rigorous and robust quality assurance and enhancement.

Mr Bilal Sheikh, Principal and Chief Executive of the College, said:

It was especially pleasing to hear that students who met the QAA team were enthusiastic about their experiences at the College. We are passionate about their personal, professional and academic development. MRC staff are also keen to support students in their research and future employability. The College uses a range of methods to ensure best teaching practice across the board. We involve the students in many of the processes. And our student retention is getting better all the time.

Mr James Abiodun Olunisi, President of the MRC Student Union added:

The College is a great place to study. There is a clear sense of community at Mont Rose and the senior staff take the trouble to involve us as partners in the academic activity and the running of MRC. The support here is excellent.

Mr Sheikh concluded:

We are looking forward to building on our success. The next stage will be to gain permission to award our own degrees. We already have many of the systems and processes in place and plan to apply at the earliest possible opportunity.
