Modern Slavery Policy Statement

Mont Rose College is committed to conducting its activities fairly, honestly, and with the highest standards of integrity, in accordance with applicable law. We recognise our responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms as well as our obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

1.1 Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking, all of which involve the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain. Mont Rose College recognises its responsibility to ensure that workers are not exploited and that relevant employment, health and safety, human rights, and international standards are adhered to.

1.2   The Modern Slavery Act 2015 aims to tackle exploitation and human trafficking. It requires organisations with a minimum annual turnover of ÂŁ36 million to report on the steps they are taking to address modern slavery within their operations and to produce a “slavery and human trafficking statement” for each financial year.

1.3  Mont Rose College does not meet the statutory threshold and is therefore not legally required to produce such a statement. However, as an educational institution and Exempt Charity, Mont Rose College recognises its responsibility to act ethically and transparently. We are committed to supporting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and to ensuring that our practices and supply chains remain free from modern slavery and human trafficking.

Our voluntary commitment includes

  • Promoting ethical procurement: ensuring suppliers align with fair labour standards.
  • Raising awareness: educating staff and students about modern slavery risks.
  • Monitoring partnerships: reviewing collaborative and recruitment practices to safeguard against exploitation.
  • Continuous improvement: strengthening policies and procedures to identify and mitigate risks.
