Course Contents/Description: The award is made up of 5 units:

  • BAM6060 Hospitality Leadership
  • BAM6062 Hospitality Finance and Revenue Management
  • BAM6063 Hospitality Sustainability and Innovation
  • BAM6064 Hospitality Industry Research Project

Exit Awards

  • Ordinary Degree (80 credits at Level 6)
  • Honours Degree (120 credits at Level 6)

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of the programme you will be able to:

  • K1: Demonstrate a critical understanding of hospitality organisations, including the complex external environments in which they operate, and evaluate contemporary management practices within the industry.
  • K2: Critically evaluate the impact of internal and external changes on hospitality organisations and assess their strategic and operational responses in complex and evolving environments.
  • K3: Integrate theoretical and practical dimensions of hospitality management to inform effective decision-making and professional practice.
  • K4: Critically evaluate the environmental, economic, social, and cultural impacts of the hospitality industry, and appraise its role in promoting sustainable and responsible practices within society.
  • K5: Critically analyse market dynamics, customer behaviours and needs, and other key drivers of change that influence the strategic development of the hospitality industry and its products.

On successful completion of the programme you will be able to:

  • C1: Critically assess knowledge and understanding of subject areas and the application of management strategies and techniques to industrial contexts.
  • C2: Evaluate interdisciplinary management techniques, apply them to complex issues, analyse outcomes, draw appropriate conclusions, and present findings in a suitable format.
  • C3: Investigate the ethical issues that may arise in business and professional practice, and develop solutions through discussions with peers, clients, mentors, and the broader community.
  • C4: Analyse and assess theories and models related to hospitality management and operations.

Learning & Teaching

Teaching is delivered face-to-face through:

  • Completion of Level 4 and Level 5 study in hospitality, business, or a related subject (e.g. HND or Foundation Degree)
  • Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS 5.5 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components) or equivalent
  • Mature students with relevant professional experience will be considered individually.

You can expect at least **12 hours of scheduled learning per week**, plus independent study supported by Blackboard (VLE) and library resources.

  • Completion of Level 4 and Level 5 study in hospitality, business, or a related subject (e.g. HND or Foundation Degree)
  • Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS 5.5 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components) or equivalent
  • Mature students with relevant professional experience will be considered individually.

Tuition Fee

The fees are increasing to £9,535 per annum from 2025-26. Students on this course may be fully funded by the Student Loan Company.
