Gina Pop
Hospitality Lecturer
My professional and academic journey reflects a deep-seated commitment to education, mentorship, and continuous personal growth. Born in Romania and having made the United Kingdom my home for the past nine years, my career has been a testament to adaptability and the relentless pursuit of knowledge.
My career took a pivotal turn in 2020, amidst the challenges presented by the global pandemic. Driven by a passion for the hospitality industry and an earnest desire for personal development, I enrolled in a Hospitality Management course at MRC. This decision marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life, one that would steer me towards academic achievement and professional fulfilment. Graduating with a higher diploma was a significant milestone, but my thirst for knowledge was far from quenched. I further pursued my academic goals by completing my degree at Buckinghamshire New University in 2022, thereby solidifying my foundation for future endeavours.
Reflecting on my career path upon completing my degree, I realised that my true passion lay in education and mentorship. This revelation guided me back to MRC, where I undertook a Diploma in Education and Training (DET). It was a decision that symbolised not just a commitment to my personal growth, but to societal growth at large. In September 2023, I began my teaching career at MRC, dedicating myself to making a meaningful impact on my students and contributing to their academic and personal development.
My journey from hospitality management to the noble profession of teaching is a narrative of unwavering passion, adaptability, and a deep commitment to making a positive contribution to society. My story serves as a beacon of inspiration for those aspiring to impact the world through education. It underscores the notion that with dedication and perseverance, one can truly make a significant impact.
