Course Overview

This course is designed to equip local business owners and students with practical marketing skills that drive business success and career opportunities. The session covers essential marketing principles, low-cost strategies, and digital tools, ensuring accessibility for participants with or without formal education in the field. The workshop aligns with key UN Sustainable Development Goals by promoting: quality education (SDG 4.3: Inclusive and equitable quality education), economic growth and entrepreneurship (SDG 8.3: Decent work and sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth). Additionally, by fostering inclusive business strategies, ethical marketing, and digital literacy, the program supports reducing inequalities (SDG 10.2: Reduced inequalities) and ensures that all participants learn the skills to improve their work/careers and education.  Participants will leave with practical insights of sustainable marketing that not only strengthen their businesses and careers but also contribute to a more inclusive and resilient economy.

Part 1: The Marketing Process – 3 Hours

  • Understand the meaning and process of marketing
  • Identify the marketing mix
  • Prepare a snapshot of your current marketing strategy and identify areas for development

Part 2: Promotion – 3 hours

  • Understand the different promotion methods
  • Map out the current promotions plan
  • Design an engaging social media post for your business
