At Mont Rose College, we believe in nurturing potential far beyond our campus walls. On 30th June 2025, our Employability and Marketing departments joined forces to deliver an impactful CV and Cover Letter Writing Skills Workshop for Year 10 and Year 13 students at Chadwell Heath Academy.
The Aim behind the Workshop
The workshop was designed with a clear set of goals:
- To equip students with the knowledge and confidence to write professional CVs and cover letters.
- To introduce them to the importance of employability skills early in their academic journey.
- To guide students in exploring career pathways and upskilling opportunities post-graduation.
Engaging Sessions, Real Impact
Delivered by Eva Misheva (Employability Coordinator) and Ivelina Ivanova (Marketing Officer), the sessions were adapted to suit the different academic levels of each year group. Despite being close to the summer break, 16 students attended the sessions, showing great enthusiasm and curiosity throughout.
Students asked thoughtful questions about CV structure, personal statements, and cover letter content—demonstrating a strong desire to make a positive impression in future applications for work or further study. To complement the workshop, our team also shared practical insights on career planning and short professional courses that can enhance employability for school leavers.
Student-Led Success
One particularly encouraging outcome came from a Year 13 student who sought personalised feedback on his CV following the session. After receiving tailored support from the MRC Employability Team, he expressed his appreciation in a glowing review:
“Thanks to your feedback I feel much more confident about writing my CV now… I found the support far better than other sessions such as assemblies or feedback from people in my personal life. I would 100% recommend this service to classmates… It was very insightful and has helped me gain newer experiences.”
Looking Ahead: Continued Collaboration
We are proud to share that, due to the success of this event, Chadwell Heath Academy has already scheduled another session for June 2026. This ongoing collaboration highlights the strength of our school partnerships and our shared commitment to supporting students at all stages of their education.
At Mont Rose College, we see every outreach session as a chance to empower, educate, and inspire—and this workshop was no exception. We look forward to continuing our work with Chadwell Heath Academy and similar institutions across London to support the next generation of professionals.
