The Employability Team at Mont Rose College attended the London Job Show at Westfield Stratford City, a large-scale recruitment event bringing together employers from sectors including healthcare, catering, public services, and business. The aim of the visit was to strengthen employer connections and create new opportunities for our students.
Despite only one student being able to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, the experience proved highly valuable. The student engaged directly with employers, explored live vacancies, and submitted applications on the day, gaining meaningful insight into the recruitment process and workplace expectations.
Following the event, it was confirmed that the student successfully secured a position with Zara, demonstrating the real impact of such initiatives.
In addition, strong connections were established with organisations such as the City of London Corporation, opening opportunities for future workshops, guest talks, and recruitment sessions at the College.
This event highlights how even a single opportunity for direct employer engagement can lead to significant outcomes, reinforcing the importance of experiential learning in supporting students’ career progression.
