For many students, the idea of student finance can feel confusing or even overwhelming. At Mont Rose College, a recent workshop set out to change that statement—turning uncertainty into clarity.
The session was organised by the Employability Department in partnership with the Finance team. Delivered across both campuses, it brought students together to clearly explore how student loan repayments work. The focus was on practical, easy-to-understand explanations—covering what happens after graduation, how repayments are calculated, and helping students realise that the process is more manageable than they might have thought.
What stood out was the shift in perspective. Students began to see that financial support is not a barrier, but a stepping stone towards their goals. The open discussions helped break down long-held worries and replace them with confidence. By the end, it wasn’t just about understanding numbers—it was about changing mindsets and helping students move forward with a clearer, more positive outlook on their future.
