Mont Rose College was honoured to welcome Antony Lindsay, motivational speaker and author, as part of our Black History Month celebrations this October.
Antony Lindsay is a passionate advocate for self-development, confidence, and entrepreneurship. With his energetic style, he shared powerful stories about resilience, identity, and self-belief, reminding students that no matter where you start in life, what truly matters is the belief you hold in yourself and your willingness to take action. His message was clear: success begins with mindset and authenticity.
His visit came at a meaningful time: Black History Month, a global celebration that honours the achievements, culture, and contributions of Black communities throughout history. In the United Kingdom, Black History Month is an opportunity to recognise the rich heritage and influence of African and Caribbean communities, while promoting equality, inclusion, and understanding. It encourages everyone to reflect on the struggles for justice and civil rights, as well as to celebrate those who have inspired change, creativity, and progress worldwide.
At Mont Rose College, we take pride in celebrating diversity throughout the year. Still, October holds special significance as we join voices across the country to highlight empowerment, representation, and unity. This year’s celebration with Antony Lindsay perfectly reflected those values as he encouraged students to take pride in their identity, amplify their voices, and support one another’s growth.
During his talk, Antony encouraged students to embrace their individuality, turn challenges into opportunities, and become leaders who uplift others. He shared valuable advice for students running small businesses or looking to build their personal brand by explaining how being authentic and visible on social media can help attract genuine clients and opportunities.
Antony is also the author of I’m Kind of a Big Deal, a practical book that shows how to turn LinkedIn and YouTube into client-attraction platforms. The book offers clear weekly plans, content ideas, and digital tools that help professionals and entrepreneurs build trust, authority, and confidence online . At the end of the session, Antony kindly gifted copies of his book to students, leaving them with practical inspiration to continue building their personal and professional growth.
After the talk, everyone enjoyed a delicious selection of African cuisine, lovingly prepared by our student Aline Wabi Nzumba through her catering company, De Grace Event & Restaurant. Her food added a warm and joyful touch to the afternoon, giving students and staff a chance to connect, share stories, and celebrate the richness of African culture together.
This event was part of Mont Rose College’s ongoing commitment to celebrating diversity, empowerment, and cultural awareness. Our Black History Month programme aims to honour both the achievements of the past and the inspiring voices shaping the present like Antony Lindsay, whose story continues to motivate others to dream big and stay true to themselves.
A heartfelt thank you to Antony Lindsay for his uplifting talk and generosity, and to Aline Wabi Nzumba for her outstanding contribution. The afternoon was full of reflection, inspiration, and celebration: a true reminder that at Mont Rose College, greatness begins with self-belief.
