Last week, our Top-Up Hospitality students at Mont Rose College hosted a powerful and thought-provoking event titled “Mind Matters”, focusing on Emotional and Mental Wellbeing – Balancing Life.
The session shone a timely spotlight on mental health awareness in higher education, highlighting why mental wellbeing matters for everyone, both personally and within our broader community. Held at Desserd by Irina Cafe, 28 High Street, RM1 1HR, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, the event brought together students, staff, and guests in an open and supportive atmosphere.
A key highlight of the evening was our guest speaker, Ms Francesca Pinamang, the Founder of The Healing Table. Francesca’s inspiring talk drew on her lived experience, professional journey and practical insights, offering valuable guidance on maintaining emotional balance and resilience. Her message encouraged everyone to normalise conversations around mental health, foster compassion and support one another through life’s challenges.
The event reflected the creativity and empathy of our students and reinforced Mont Rose College’s ongoing commitment to promoting student wellbeing and community engagement. Through initiatives like Mind Matters, our students gain essential skills in event management, leadership and emotional intelligence, all of which are vital qualities for their future careers.
“Mind Matters” served as a reminder that mental health conversations should never be stigmatised. Together, we can build a culture of understanding, kindness and growth where every voice truly matters.
