On the evening of 15th November 2024, Mont Rose College opened its doors to over 450 guests for its annual Christmas Fair, transforming the campus into a festive haven. Held from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm, the event was a celebration featuring local businesses, students, and community members coming together to mark the holiday season.
Highlights of the Christmas Fair
A Marketplace Full of Cheer:
The fair showcased 25 vibrant stalls hosted by local businesses and Mont Rose College students. These stalls featured everything from handcrafted Christmas decorations to unique gifts and delicious food items. The student-run stalls embodied the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit cultivated at the college, allowing students to engage with the community in a meaningful way.
Festive Activities for All Ages:
Children and families revelled in the magic of Santa’s Grotto, where they met Santa Claus and received special treats. The face-painting station delighted the young ones, transforming them into reindeer, elves, and other festive characters. A DJ added to the holiday spirit with lively music, setting the perfect backdrop for a dance floor full of joy and laughter.
Sustainability in Action:
Under the “Strive to Inspire” banner, Mont Rose College proudly featured its sustainability stall, buzzing with purposeful activity. MRC students sold a variety of gift items, raising £500 for the Sycamore Trust, a local charity supporting individuals with autism and their families. The stall not only encouraged attendees to embrace sustainable practices but also demonstrated the college’s dedication to serving the local community.
Raffle and Lucky Draw:
The evening included an exciting raffle and lucky draw, with all proceeds going to the Sycamore Trust. Attendees eagerly participated, contributing to the fundraising efforts while hoping to win one of the amazing prizes. This initiative highlighted the fair’s spirit of giving, ensuring that the festive cheer extended beyond the event to support a worthy cause.
