International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global celebration of women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements, as well as a call to action for accelerating gender equality. This year, Mont Rose College proudly embraced the #IWD2025 theme: #AccelerateAction—a powerful call to push for progress, break barriers, and uplift one another. On 8th March 2025, the college hosted an inspiring event that brought together students, staff, and a special guest to celebrate women’s brilliance, resilience, and potential everywhere.
A Day of Inspiration and Empowerment
The event’s highlight was an inspirational session led by the incredible Pilar Sifas Obiol, a renowned coach and founder of Clarity Coaching. Known for her transformative personal and professional development approach, Ms. Obiol delivered a powerful talk that resonated deeply with our students. Her session was not just a lecture but an interactive experience designed to ignite ambition, foster self-belief, and encourage actionable steps toward achieving personal and collective goals.
Through her engaging presentation and thought-provoking activities, Ms. Obiol challenged the students to #DreamBig and embrace their potential as strong, smart, and capable women. She emphasised the importance of taking bold, proactive steps to overcome challenges and create meaningful change in their lives and communities.

Key Themes of the Session
Ms. Obiol’s talk covered several critical themes that align with the #AccelerateAction mission:
- Breaking Systemic Barriers to Gender Equality

The session explored strategies for women to take charge of their careers, negotiate for their worth, and create opportunities for leadership and growth. - Building Supportive Networks to Uplift and Empower Women
Ms Obiol stressed the importance of mentorship, collaboration, and community in driving progress. She encouraged the students to build and nurture networks that uplift and empower women. - Addressing Unconscious Bias in Education and Workplaces
The talk delved into the impact of unconscious bias and how it can hinder progress. Ms Obiol shared practical tools for recognising and addressing bias in everyday life. - The Power of Today’s Students in Shaping a More Inclusive Future
She reminded the audience that today’s students are the leaders of tomorrow. They can create a more equitable and inclusive world by embracing their potential and taking action.
