Mont Rose College was delighted to participate in the Careers Fair hosted by Bower Park Academy on 5th December, 2025, an event designed to inspire young people and broaden their understanding of future education and career pathways. The fair brought together a wide range of employers, colleges, and training providers, creating a vibrant and informative environment for students to explore their ambitions and ask meaningful questions about their futures.
Representing Mont Rose College at the event were Murasa Hurmat, Amjad Tushar, and Vasilita Golban, who engaged with students across multiple year groups throughout the day. The team had the opportunity to speak directly with pupils about higher education, vocational routes, and the importance of developing skills that align with their interests and strengths.
During the fair, students showed great enthusiasm and curiosity, asking thoughtful questions about college life, subject choices, entry requirements, and future career opportunities. Many were particularly interested in understanding how their current studies could lead to real-world professions and how further education could support their long-term goals. The Mont Rose College team highlighted the wide range of courses available, including business, health and social care, computing, and professional pathways that combine academic learning with practical skills.
A key focus of the conversations was helping students recognise that there is no single route to success. The team emphasised that higher education, vocational qualifications, and professional development pathways can all play an important role in shaping successful careers. By sharing real examples and offering clear guidance, Mont Rose College aimed to help students feel more confident about making informed decisions for their future.
Events like the Bower Park Academy Careers Fair are an essential part of Mont Rose College’s commitment to widening participation and supporting young people from diverse backgrounds. Engaging with pupils at an early stage allows the College to raise aspirations, challenge misconceptions about higher education, and encourage students to consider pathways they may not have previously explored.
The Careers Fair also provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen partnerships between Mont Rose College and local schools. Collaborating with institutions such as Bower Park Academy helps ensure that students receive consistent, accurate, and motivating information about post-16options. These partnerships are crucial to supporting the progression, attainment, and long-term success of young people in the community.
Mont Rose College would like to thank Bower Park Academy for the warm welcome and excellent organisation of the event. It was a pleasure to meet such engaged and motivated students, and the College looks forward to continuing its work with schools to inspire future generations.
Through events like this, Mont Rose College remains committed to empowering students with knowledge, confidence, and opportunities to help them take the next step towards their future careers.
