Coronavirus: information and guidance to protect our college community
We continue to monitor the situation closely following the outbreak of the coronavirus (Covid-19), and are taking steps, in line with Government guidance, to minimise the risk to our college community. The health and wellbeing of our staff, visitors and students remains paramount.
The college is following the latest guidance from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. We are also following the latest advice of the Department of Health and Social Care; and Public Health England (PHE) which applies to all staff, students and visitors:
What you need to do if you’ve travelled overseas recently
We are asking anyone who has returned from Iran; ‘special care zones’ in South Korea; and China in the last 14 days to follow the advice provided by the Government. You should immediately stay indoors and avoid contact with other people as you would with the flu, even if you do not have symptoms of the virus which include a fever, a cough, or difficulty breathing. Please call NHS 111 to inform them of your recent travel to the area.
Those returning from Northern Italy (defined as a line above, and not including, Pisa, Florence and Rimini) who have symptoms, however mild, should follow the guidelines above. You do not need to self-isolate if you have no symptoms.
Those who have returned from other high risk countries (currently Thailand, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia)  in the last 14 days should follow the advice provided by the Government.
Anyone showing any symptoms, however minor, should follow the advice here, stay indoors and call NHS 111 to inform them of your recent travel to the country.
If you have travelled elsewhere and have flu symptoms you should call NHS 111, in line with Government advice.
Please follow these guidelines if you, or anyone you live with, are asked to self-isolate.
What you can do to protect our College community
We rely on everyone to play their part and be open and honest about any potential level of risk.
Colds and flu are common at this time of year, and there are simple steps that can be taken to minimise the spread of viruses generally. The NHS recommends that you:
