Finding Balance Through Movement: Students Enjoy Indoor Pilates and Wellbeing Session
Student wellbeing remains a key priority at Mont Rose College, and on 13 May 2026, students had the opportunity to take a break from their studies and focus on their physical and mental wellbeing during a dedicated Pilates and Wellbeing Session led by Nicole C.
Originally planned to take place outdoors at Valentine’s Park, opposite Shakespeare House, the session was moved indoors due to unfavourable weather conditions. Despite the change of venue, the event was well attended and created a positive, relaxed atmosphere where students could step away from their daily routines and invest time in their health and wellbeing.
Held between 12:30 PM and 1:15 PM, the session introduced students to a range of Pilates exercises designed to improve posture, flexibility, balance, and core strength. Alongside the physical benefits, students were encouraged to focus on mindfulness, breathing techniques, and stress management, helping them develop practical strategies to support their overall wellbeing during their studies.

The session welcomed students from the Health and Social Care programme and provided an opportunity for them to engage in an activity that promoted both physical activity and self-care. Throughout the session, students participated enthusiastically and demonstrated a genuine interest in learning more about the benefits of Pilates and mindful movement.
One of the most encouraging outcomes of the event was the positive feedback received from students. Many participants shared that they enjoyed the session and appreciated the opportunity to take part in an activity that focused on wellbeing rather than academic commitments. Several students expressed interest in attending similar activities in the future and requested that more wellbeing and fitness sessions be organised throughout the academic year.
Events such as this highlight the importance of creating opportunities for students to connect, relax, and maintain a healthy balance between academic responsibilities and personal wellbeing. They also support the College’s wider commitment to enhancing the student experience through meaningful engagement activities that contribute to students’ success both inside and outside the classroom.
The Student Engagement Department would like to thank Nicole C for delivering an engaging and enjoyable session, as well as all students who participated and contributed to its success.
Following the positive response received, the College will continue exploring opportunities to provide additional wellbeing-focused activities and workshops, ensuring students have access to initiatives that support their health, confidence, and overall college experience.
We look forward to welcoming students to future wellbeing events and continuing to promote a healthy, active, and supportive student community at Mont Rose College.
