MRC Angel Competition 2026
Deadline for applications has been extended to 13th FEBRUARY, 2026
About The Angel Competition
Every big idea starts with a moment of courage. The Angel Competition is here for that moment — when you decide to stop thinking “maybe one day” and start saying “why not now?” If you have a skill, a side hustle, or an idea you keep coming back to, this is your chance to take it seriously.
The competition began at Mont Rose College in 2017, and since then, students from diverse backgrounds have stepped forward to try, learn, and grow. Not because they had everything ready, but because they believed in their potential. The Angel Competition has always been about backing students, building confidence, and helping ideas move forward!!!
You don’t need to know every answer yet. What matters is being willing to take the first step. The Angel Competition is here to support you, challenge you, and help you turn your idea into something you can be proud of.
Believe in your idea. Back yourself. Apply today.

Stage 1: Apply &
Get Shortlisted
This is where your journey starts. You submit your application by sharing your business idea or what you already do. Your idea does not need to be perfect — a clear and honest outline is enough to apply.
What you need to submit:
- The MRC 2026 Angel Competition Application form
- A signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
All applications will be reviewed, and shortlisted applicants will be invited to move forward as finalists.
Stage 2: Mentoring & Preparation
If you’re selected as a finalist, you’ll receive continued support to help you develop your idea and prepare for the competition. This stage is about learning, improving, and building confidence.
You’ll be supported through mentoring and workshops covering:
- Developing your business idea and goals
- Marketing and promotion basics
- Pricing, costs, and understanding finances
- Business awareness, professionalism, and etiquette
Your idea does not need to be fully developed — it just needs to be clear. You’ll be encouraged to create simple visuals, examples, or materials that help explain what your business is about.
Before the final event, you’ll also take part in a practice presentation session, where you’ll receive feedback to help you feel ready for competition day.
Competition Day: Showcase, Pitch & Present
On the competition day, finalists will arrive early to set up their exhibition table and presentation materials. This is your opportunity to showcase your idea and speak directly with judges and the student community.
On the day you will:
- Display your idea or business at an exhibition table
- Speak with judges and visitors
- Deliver a 10–15 minute presentation to a judging panel and audience
- Answer questions about your idea and future plans
Judging & Awards
Each finalist will be assessed using clear and fair criteria based on what you’ve learned and prepared throughout the competition.
Judges will score finalists from 1 (very weak) to 5 (very strong), focusing on:
- The clarity and potential of the business idea
- Business and marketing approach
- How the business would operate
- Understanding of the market and competition
- Financial thinking (pricing, costs, future planning)
- Presentation skills and confidence
Prizes & Recognition
At the end of the competition, judges will review scores and select:
- Winner – awarded the main Angel Competition prize
- Runner-up – recognised for strong performance and potential
- Finalists – acknowledged for reaching the final stage and showcasing their ideas
Full prize details and conditions are outlined in the Angel Competition 2026 application form. All finalists benefit from the experience, feedback, and skills gained during the competition.
After the awards are announced, finalists will be invited to a private networking session with judges and special guests.
Everyone leaves with experience. Some leave with prizes. All leave with confidence.
