Course Overview

Mont Rose College of Management and Sciences offers this HND in Business Marketing course with the approval of BTEC Edexcel. Pearson BTEC Higher National qualifications are designed to prepare learners for the employment in a specific industry.

  • INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOME

    Intended Learning outcomes:
    After completing the course, the student will be able to:

    • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of organisations and the dynamic nature of the environment which they operate in.
    • Be able to communicate in a professional manner (written reports and formal presentations).
    • Demonstrate an understanding of various marketing and business tools/ models and how they can be used to make informed marketing decisions.
    • Demonstrate and understanding of the role and functions of marketing within an organisation.
    • Be able to conduct research and to use the literature in marketing to demonstrate a critical understanding of various marketing theories, concepts, frameworks and techniques.
    • Be able to synthesise ideas into a marketing plan.
    • Demonstrate cognitive skills of critical thinking, ability to solve business problems

    The Pearson BTEC HNC Level 4 is made up of 120 credits and be completed over a years’ time. The HND a combination of both levels 4 and 5 and is made up of 240 credits, this qualification is usually studied full-time over two years, or part-time over four years.

    Mont Rose College recruits students of good achievement from all educational backgrounds. Proven previous exam results are the main criteria for admission to Mont Rose College. International (Tier-4) students will also need to show the English language competence in order to secure admission.

    The following criteria must be met in order to secure admission to Mont Rose College. Academic (at least one of the following)

    • A BTEC Level 3 qualification in Business
    • A GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject. This profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grades at A* to C (or equivalent)
    • Other related Level 3 qualifications
    • An Access to Higher Education Certificate awarded by an approved further education institution
    • Related work experience
    • An international equivalent of the above.

  • REQUIREMENTS

    English Language

    International (Tier-4) students must show proof of English-language competence through success in an English test or background approved by UKBA. They should have The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) The B2 level and above in reading, writing, listening and speaking. Students from the European Union (EU) students should also have good exam results and/or background in the English language.

    Restrictions on Learner Entry:

    The Edexcel BTEC Higher National qualifications are for learners aged 18 years and over.
