What is the concept of Public law and Why is it Important?
There are different types of law such as criminal law, international law, corporate law, labour law, property law, administrative law, public law, etc. Public law is an important concept that must be known to every individual. It regulates the relationship between the public and the government.
As per law, all the decisions considering an individual’s rights of are made by the government. The public has the right to raise their voice when it comes to an unfair decision made by the authoritative body.
Generally, lawyers who are familiar with public law can be experts in various areas of public law that include administrative, constitutional, and criminal law. Every law differs slightly from one another. For an instant, if someone is working in administrative/constitutional law, they need to work alongside with NHS, local council or other governmental bodies.

Different areas of public law
Constitutional Law: the UK political system is not regulated by a constitution at all in the sense that is most commonly used around the world. This constitutional law sets out the form of government as, how its different branches work, how they are elected, and how the powers responsibilities are distributed.
The present constitution encloses both landmark judicial opinions and statutory law. This also involves many conventions or unwritten rules of constitutional practice. For the last few decades, the constitutional law in the UK has undergone many changes. Its key development includes the incorporation of the European Convention on Human Rights into UK law via the Human Rights of 1998.
Administrative law: Generally, administrative law is the body of legal work that deals with government agencies. Here, the Lawmakers create the government agencies to carry out laws and maintain its functions. Administrative law deals with the implementation and enforcement of rules and regulations created by government agencies.
Administrative Law covers many different areas, and its practitioners might never see a courtroom. They may instead spend their major time in practising filing legal documents and arguing to judges in a formal manner.
Criminal law: English criminal law deals with offences, their prevention and the consequences. An offence is considered to be any action against or violation of public rights, and is therefore punishable by the Criminal Court of Justice.
Misdemeanours and felonies are the two types of criminal laws. A misdemeanour is considered to be a low-level offence such as breaking traffic rules, petty theft, etc.
A felony involves more serious offences, such as murder, drug dealings, rape, robbery, arson etc.
Tax law: Tax law affects every commercial, corporate or personal transaction. Tax lawyers are required in both private and public domains. A private sector’s tax practitioners will cover various area of life. Mostly, this involves focusing on the best way to structure assets, assisting with documentation, negotiating and completing transactions.
Tax lawyers in the public sector will work for HM Revenue and Customs department, tax statutory bodies and panels.
Where to study Public Law?
At Mont Rose College, Public Law course is available as Level-6, LLB law degree. The course is available as a 3 years full-time course with the number of 360 credit hours. It is important for every student to attend 12 hrs per week in terms of time in each semester. To obtain this Law degree, the completion of this duration is very important.
The syllabus is built in such a way that has a keen eye on the student’s growth and career.
