Student Services FAQ

  • When will I have the Induction?

    Once you receive an Unconditional offer from the MRC Admission team, you will be enrolled in the system. The Student Services Team member will send you helpful information like Induction details, Reminders, and Post Induction emails at different times.

  • When will I have my Login Credentials?

    You will receive your Login Credentials from the Student Services Officer after the Induction.

  • How can I find my ID number?

    You can find your MONT ROSE Student ID Number in your Login Credentials email or contact Student Services.

  • Do I have to register with Student Union?

    You do not need to register; you will automatically be registered with Mont Rose College. Buckinghamshire New University Students will be registered with University Student Union.

  • Can I apply for Student Oyster Card or Discount Card?

    Once you are registered with Mont Rose College. You will receive information on applying for Student Oyster Card and Discount Card. If you need any assistance, then you can contact with Student Union at mrcsu@mrcollege.ac.uk or Student Services Officer at student.assistant@mrcollege.ac.uk

  • Can I speak to someone to get information?

    The switchboard can help answer quick general questions, connect you with campus resources, and give you information on how to register and enroll at Mont Rose College.

  • I need to change my address / personal details.

    You can change your personal details by contacting Student Services. You will be required to provide proof of address in order to proceed. You need to email student.assistant@mrcollege.ac.uk with your evidence and student ID number. You will need to complete the relevant form.

  • How can I get a council tax or reference letter?

    Contact Student Services in writing via email at student.assistant@mrcollege.ac.uk or by attending the premise. We aim to resolve such queries within 3-5 working days, but there may be delays depending on your Student Loan Company application status. You will need to complete the relevant form.

  • How can I get a student ID Card?

    You will receive your ID card during the Induction. If your ID card is not ready for collection, Student Services will notify you once your ID card is ready. If you have lost your ID card, please email student.assistant@mrcollege.ac.uk ASAP. You must always wear your student ID card when you attend College.

  • If my MRC ID card lost or stolen?

    You must contact the student services team for your duplicate MRC ID card. You will need to pay for a replacement card.

  • How can I contact my tutor?

    You can contact your relevant tutor by emailing them directly. Tutor’s contact details are available in the assignment brief. Alternatively, you can contact MRC Registry Team for assistance.

  • I need an extension on my assignments

    You must first discuss with your concerned tutor or Course Team Leader if you require an extension. You will be required to complete the relevant form. If you are a Bucks student, contact the relevant MRC Partnership Tutor/ Registrar or Student Services Manager. If you have personal challenges or disability, please email welfareofficer@mrcollege.ac.uk with your name and MRC ID number for further support.

  • What constitutes good attendance?

    Student must have 80% attendance to be considered satisfactory for HND and 90% for DET.

  • What support is available to Students who face challenges in attending College?

    Your first point of contact should be the attendance team at attendance@mrcollege.ac.uk

    To discuss any personal challenges that refrain you from attending the College. You can contact the welfare department at welfareofficer@mrcollege.ac.uk

  • I need to authorise an absence.

    Please email attendance@mrcollege.ac.uk with your MRC ID to report any changes to your attendance. You will be required to provide evidence if you need your attendance approved for over one week. You will need to complete the relevant form.

  • If I failed to attend College for 6 consecutive days without informing?

    The attendance Team will contact you via text messages, email, and telephone. If you are not reachable, they will contact your Next of Kin. We will issue you an attendance warning letter if there is no correspondence from you.

  • How to make correspondence if I get a warning letter?

    You will need to contact the attendance team by person or email at attendance@mrcollege.ac.uk

  • How many days do I have to make correspondence?

    You must contact the attendance team within 5 working days of getting any warning, suspension, or pastoral letter.

  • What if no correspondence is made after the warning letters?

    You will be issued a pastoral letter

  • Can I be suspended because of poor attendance?

    You must coordinate with the attendance team for your attendance; otherwise, you will be suspended, and College will inform SLC (Student Loan Company).

  • what can I do if I get a warning/suspension letter?

    Your first point of contact will be attendance, or you can book an appointment with the relevant Prorgam Manager or Student Services Manager.

  • Can I get Pastoral Support?

    You can get pastoral support if your attendance is unsatisfactory. You will need to contact with attendance team at attendance@mrcollege.ac.uk. If you have personal challenges or disability, then please email  welfareofficer@mrcollege.ac.uk or Student Services Manager at welfare@mrcollege.ac.uk

  • Can I interrupt, defer, or withdraw my studies?

    yes, you can interrupt, defer or withdraw from the course. You will need to contact the student services team to discuss the options before deciding. You will need to complete the relevant form and send it to student.assistant@mrcollege.ac.uk If you are registered with the MRC welfare department. Please contact to Welfare Officer either by visiting Gantshil Campus 1st floor or by emailing welfareofficer@mrcollege.ac.uk

  • Can I request for a Duplicate Certificate/ Transcript?

    You will need to complete the relevant form and send it to student.assistant@mrcollege.ac.uk or student.services@mrcollege.ac.uk with your details like Student ID No, Name, Course Name etc. If you lost your Pearson (Edexcel) Certificate/Diploma, you must complete the Pearson online form. There will be Awarding Body charge. If you need assistance, please get in touch with the registry either by visiting Gantshil Campus 5th floor or by emailing results@mrcollege.ac.uk

  • How can I attend events at the College?

    You will receive Emails/SMS about all the events in the College. If you would like to participate in the event, please get in touch with the student services team at student.services@mrcollege.ac.uk

  • Who can I contact if I need support with my carer's advice?

    Please contact the student services department at  student.services@mrcollege.ac.uk for carer advice.

  • How can I borrow a book from the library?

    You can borrow the book from the library by visiting the 5th floor at Mont Rose House Campus Ganthills or the Ground floor at Shakphere House Campus.

  • How many books can I borrow?

    You can borrow up to 2 books.

  • How long can I borrow the books for?

    You can borrow the books for two weeks.

  • What can I do if I want to keep the book for longer than 2 weeks?

    You will have to request to extend the borrowing, and the student services will respond according to the books available and their demand in the library.

  • Where can I register for Alumini?

Moodle

  • What my Moodle ID?

    In case you do not know your Moodle ID, it will be sent via text to your mobile number.

  • What is my Moodle password?

    Your Moodle password format is dd-Mon-yy (Student’s DOB). If you started on or after September 2021 your Moodle password format should be yourFirstName_yourStudentID

  • How to get to my Moodle page?

    Please type elearning.mrcollege.ac.uk in your browser and login through your Moodle credentials.

  • I can not find my Moodle units/courses in my Moodle account?

    Go to your Moodle account. Find “my courses” on the blue ribbon bar at the top of the Moodle first page. Click on “my courses”. You will see a dropdown menu. You can find your courses in this dropdown menu.

  • Can you change my Moodle password?

    Yes, we can change your Moodle password, and a new password is sent to you via text on your mobile number.

MS Teams

  • What is my MS Team ID?

    Your MS Team ID format is studentid@mrcollege.ac.uk; it will be sent to you via text on your mobile number.

  • What is my MS Team password?

    Your MS Team password format is dd-Mon-yy (Student’s DOB). It will be sent to you via text on your mobile number.

  • How to get to my MS Team account?

    Please go to your course in Moodle. Click on the online class tab. Click on the online class link. You will be asked your username and the password for MS Teams. Type your MS Teams credentials into this login window. Click on the Join button to join the class.

  • Should I use MS Team App or download MS Team App?

    That is your preference. Both are the same in functionality.

  • Can you change my MS Team password?

    Yes, we can change, but it is advisable to keep the same format of the password as it is assigned initially.

  • I cannot join the class.

    Please go to your course in Moodle. Click on the online class. You will be asked your username and the password for MS Teams. Type in this login window. Click on the Join button to join the class.

  • Can you send the class link?

    There is not a separate link for the class. You can join the class through Moodle. Please go to your course in Moodle. Click on the online class. You will be asked your username and the password for MS Teams. Type in this login window. Click on the Join button to join the class.

    Alternatively you can click on the “Teams” button within MS Teams, and you will find your relevant class. Click on your relevant class and press the join button.

College Email

  • What is my college email?

    Your college email format is studentid@mrcollege.ac.uk, and it will be sent to you via text on your mobile number.

  • What is my email password?

    Your email password format is dd-Mon-yy (Student’s DOB). It will be sent to you via text on your mobile number.

  • How to login to college email?

    Please go to GMAIL.com and type your college email as your username and the password to log into your college email account.

  • Can I change my college email password?

    Yes, you can. But if you need IT help, please contact at ithelpdesk@mrcollege.ac.uk
