On 6th February, Mont Rose College’s Employability and Marketing teams delivered a 30-minute interactive workshop at a Job Club hosted by City Gates in Ilford. The session aimed to support local residents and prospective students in developing key employability skills while introducing the opportunities available at the College.
The workshop covered essential topics including motivation, overcoming barriers, identifying personal strengths, CV writing, interview techniques, and preparing for the workplace. By combining practical advice with real-life examples, the session provided attendees with valuable tools to support their job search and career development.
Feedback from participants was very positive, with attendees highlighting the clarity of the session, the usefulness of the content, and an increase in confidence when approaching job applications and interviews. Many participants reported feeling more motivated and better prepared for their next steps, with particular appreciation for the focus on goal setting and understanding personal strengths.
Importantly, several attendees expressed interest in further engagement with Mont Rose College, demonstrating the workshop’s impact not only on employability skills but also on promoting progression opportunities. This session reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, supporting individuals in building confidence, developing skills, and accessing education and employment opportunities.
