A QTS qualification is a legal requirement to teach in many different English schools. The teaching regulation agency (TRA) are responsible for awarding the QTS qualification. The following schools accept this qualification: foundation/voluntary aid schools, community schools and voluntary controlled schools. However, there are some schools within England in which having a QTS is not a legal requirement to teach. Which qualification is right for me?
Making the decision to select which course is right for you can be a daunting task. The QCF Edexcel level 3 certificate in assessing vocational achievement (CAVA) course is accredited by Pearson Edexcel and can only be studied full time for three months aimed at students who wish to work or want to work as assessors, teachers and tutors. However, the Diploma in Education and Training (QCF) Level 5 qualification is accredited by Pearson and it can only be studied in one year, full time. This second year of the UK Bachelor’s degree equivalent Is a one-year course and is aimed at individuals with a keen interest in teaching and learning allowing them to learn the fundamentals of teaching. The Diploma in Teaching and Learning (RQF) Is a full time one-year qualification. This Bachelor’s degree with honours equivalent is in partnership with OTHM.
