Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
Mont Rose College is deeply saddened by the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II on 8th September 2022, following a 70-year reign.our sincere condolences.
Her funeral will take place on 19th September 2022 and the college will halt its classes on the day to allow staff and students to pay their respects.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the royal family at this time. We would like to reflect on her legacy impact on the East London community.
The East End was the first place on the royal agenda following her coronation in 1953 – the very next day, even.
The day after 2005’s Aldgate bombing, our sincere condolences the Queen visited the victims and commendable emergency workers in Royal London Hospital.
The Queen was memorably accompanied by secret agent 007, Daniel Craig, at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics.
On Prince Philip’s last official engagement in 2017, he and the Queen visited Mayflower School to commemorate the centenary of 18 children that died in a German air raid in the First World War when a bomb rushed the roof.
Her legacy and impact on the East End will remain unwavering and Mont Rose College will continue to embody her dedication and decency.
