On Thursday, January 29, 2026, Mont Rose College was thrilled to take part in the important West Essex Health and Care Careers Fair. This all-encompassing event, which was held in collaboration with WorkReady at the Epping Forest District Council, welcomed a wide range of job seekers, career changers, and students and served as a crucial entry point into the vast and fulfilling world of the NHS and the larger care industry. Our participation demonstrates our strong dedication to community involvement and to shedding light on the various educational pathways that lead to rewarding, in-demand professions.
The fair was a vibrant exhibition that demonstrated the amazing range of opportunities in the community’s health and social care systems. The event effectively brought together a broad network of employers, training providers, and community organisations. Throughout the day, a constant stream of guests had meaningful, one-on-one talks with our committed college representatives. We talked to college graduates thinking about specialism, A-level students thinking about their future steps, and seasoned experts from various fields drawn to the fulfilling work of care. Our representatives explained how Mont Rose College’s speciality courses, such as those in Digital Technology, Business Marketing, Hospitality Management and Health and Social care, are carefully crafted to combine academic rigour with real-world, employability-focused abilities. We underlined that a strong and influential career in health and social care is attainable, whether via a foundational college course, a higher education degree, a vocational certificate, or a work-based apprenticeship.
Attendees could interact directly with the very organisations influencing the care environment in the area thanks to the event’s unmatched access. Mont Rose College was honoured to be listed among more than eighteen top employers and community partners, such as: Barnardos, Blossom Home Care, Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)/ Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT), Home Start Essex, New City College and NHS West Essex Talking Therapies.Â
Our team was able to contextualise Mont Rose College’s curriculum offerings within the actual employment ecosystem thanks to this close proximity. We could give attendees a clear, cohesive picture of their possible career trajectory from school into professional practice by skilfully demonstrating how the skills learned in our classrooms immediately translate to roles with these prestigious local institutions.
The level of interest and participation from fairgoers was incredibly motivating. We received well-considered, targeted enquiries concerning career ladders, the day-to-day responsibilities of different positions, prerequisites for entry, and how to match one’s compassion and personal attributes with career paths. Our group focused on describing the industry and emphasising the increasing need for a workforce that is strategically minded, administratively proficient, and tech-savvy to assist frontline healthcare professionals. These discussions went beyond general counsel, providing specific direction that enabled people to see how they may fit in and prosper in this diverse industry.
A key component of Mont Rose College’s mission is our involvement in community-driven activities, such as the West Essex Health and Care Careers Fair. We have a strong commitment to increasing participation, elevating expectations, and bolstering our community’s social and economic cohesion. We contribute to the development of a more knowledgeable, self-assured, and competent future workforce by establishing direct connections with prospective students and fortifying our alliances with important local employers and organisations like the DWP and EPUT. These partnerships guarantee that the education we offer is both academically sound and directly responsive to the changing demands of our local economy.
Mont Rose College would like to express its heartfelt appreciation to WorkReady and the Epping Forest District Council for putting together such a worthwhile and well-attended event. Meeting so many people who are driven to actually improve the lives of others was a privilege and an inspiration. We are eager to carry on this crucial cooperative effort, equipping the upcoming generation of health and care workers with the information, self-assurance, and useful skills needed to create prosperous, long-lasting, and profoundly influential careers.
